Shanzu

Brace yourself for a floating piece of text. Shanzu is my (Hans Breuker) alter ego. It is another part of me that paints and draws much more on feeling and intuition. It is not for nothing that the word ego is in alter-aego. You leave out part of your own ego, you look for another part that may not even be within yourself. 

I work entirely on intuition and make art as it comes to me. I try to shut myself off from everything and do what comes to my mind/is given to me. 

For inspiration I look to old works from the public domain and process them into new art. Abstract, conceptual, still lifes and photographs. 

Shanzu works make up the bulk of the Muurstying by Hans Breuker.
