The Hague Art Collection – sea, city, and style with a Hague accent
Welcome to The Hague: city of dunes and diplomats, tram to the sea, and coffee by the Hofvijver. Here, history and modernity don't clash—they walk together along the water, under the linden trees of Lange Voorhout and across the boulevard of Scheveningen. My The Hague Art Collection captures that mix in vibrant pop-art colors, graphic lines, and a warm, Hague wink. Perfect for your home wall or as a gift for a true 'Hagenaar' or 'Hagenees'.
Who I am
I am Hans Breuker—pop-art artist, color chaser, lover of cities with a soul. My work is figurative, with bold outlines, humor, and guts. The Hague has everything I'm looking for: sea-light, royal city allure, and street character. I don't paint a flat image; I paint the feeling you get when the sea breeze lifts your jacket and the city says, "come on in."
Hagenaar vs. Hagenees (with love)
In The Hague, a distinction is sometimes made between Hagenaar and Hagenees. The Hagenaar often sounds more refined, perhaps lives closer to the avenues, parks, and palaces. The Hagenees speaks a bit rougher, straight-to-the-point, loves herring and sharp humor. In my work, there's room for both: glamour and grit, Kurhaus chic and pier fun, Binnenhof tranquility and market hustle. Because The Hague IS that balance.
City highlights (reflected in the collection)
Hofvijver & Binnenhof – mirroring water, history still whispering.
Peace Palace – world-iconic, elegant, and timeless.
Mauritshuis & Escher in Het Paleis – art with class and optical magic.
Lange Voorhout – linden trees, light, and Sunday strolls.
Noordeinde Palace – royal city allure with a smile.
Scheveningen – the Pier, the Kurhaus, salty air, and summer evenings.
The Hague Market – large, colorful, lively: a world in stalls.
The dunes – soft sculpture of wind and time, a natural stage for color.
The Collection – themes & vibes
1) Hofvijver in Color
The political heart, but poetic. Graphic reflections, serene surfaces, a hint of gold or neon for evening light. Calm yet full.
Suits: living room, office, study.
2) Scheveningen & Sea
Waves, seagulls, Kurhaus glow and the Pier as a play of lines. Pop-art beach: cheerful, fresh, and a touch nostalgic—as if you're on vacation every day.
Hang it: dining area or kitchen—daily ray of sunshine.
3) Lange Voorhout & Palaces
Rows of linden trees, streaks of light, Noordeinde chic. Stylish, classic meets modern. My lines keep it royal, the colors make it lively.
Styling: brass accents, warm frame, hotel-chic at home.
4) Peace Palace Icon
Iconic contours, clean composition, and color blocks that preserve dignity without being solemn. Worldly, modern, calm strength.
Perfect for: reception area, home office, meaningful gift.
5) The Hague Street Life (Bike, Tram, Market)
Tram to the sea, market bustle, sidewalks with stories. Rhythm, humor, and Hague lightness. Urban pop-art that makes you look forward to the day.
Tip: in the hallway—every entry becomes cheerful.
6) Vintage Royal City (map with a twist)
A vintage map with soft texture, fine typography, and subtle color accents. Nostalgic without being dusty.
A street-art style map as a stage; figures strolling, skating, kissing, and laughing. Tags, stencils, splatters: life in layers. The city moves, you move with it.
Works great: creative workspace, loft, living room with character.
8) "Pakje" (Package) Motif (iconic, pop-parody)
Sleek, recognizable packaging silhouettes translated into Hague colors and symbolism. No brand, but the graphic punch. Humor + design = conversation starter.
Nice as a set (three in a row) for rhythm on your wall.
9) Family Pop-Art (The Hague Edition)
You—but in bright, lasting colors. Dune details, a tram, a skyline hint. Warm, cheerful, personal (without fuss).
Gift occasions: housewarming, anniversary, birthday, new job in the royal city.

About those black and white maps 😉
Great if you want to prove you can point out Laan van Meerdervoort. But walls call for air, light, and laughter—for The Hague as you feel it: salty, stylish, and a bit contrary. We go for color, courage, and life.
